Cannon Beach, Oregon

Nestled between the majestic Pacific Ocean and the Coast Range, Cannon Beach is an upscale yet relaxed community with a thriving arts and tourist culture. Its proximity to Portland makes Cannon Beach an easy getaway. Situated off the famed Highway 101, the best of the Oregon Coastline is within driving distance and is the best place on the West Coast to view Tufted Puffins.

Cannon Beach and the surrounding areas are rife with magnificent natural attractions, from the grandeur of Haystack Rock to the waterfalls at Hug Point, to the quiet beauty of numerous State parks. Haystack Rock is a unique monolith towering 235 feet above the beach that attracts wildlife and tourists alike. As many as 200,000 people visit Haystack Rock every year, mostly during the summer months when the tidepools are teeming and the nesting seabirds, proudly showing off breeding plumage, are busy introducing little ones into the world. It is one of the largest “sea stacks” on America’s Pacific coast and is the third largest monolith in the world. Ecola State Park boasts some of the most breathtaking views on the Oregon Coast.

Cannon Beach has numerous art galleries, specialty shops, cafes, and fine-dining restaurants to enjoy. Visitors can watch glass blowers at work in their studio or attend live theater performances.
