Providenciales, often called Provo, is one of seven inhabited islands in the 40-island chain, Turks and Caicos, which forms the southeast tip of the Bahamas. This heavenly, 38-mile-long island set in crystal turquoise waters boasts a 14-mile-long white sand beach and provides spectacular scuba diving and snorkeling opportunities. Beautiful tropical fish flow in schools across the reef; eagle rays, sharks, turtles, dolphins, and manta rays are seen with some regularity in these waters. These dive sites are pristine, many seeming to be untouched by man. However, there is one creature in these waters who seems to prefer the company of humans. Jojo the Dolphin regularly leaves his comrades at sea to join the swimmers in Grace Bay.
Just two hours from Miami, Beaches Resort and Spa is nestled amid groves of palms and tropical foliage that fronts a 12-mile stretch of pristine beach. For everyone who has ever dreamed of getting away from it all and finding a tropical hideaway far removed from all the hustle, bustle, fuss and muss of modern life—Turks & Caicos is that rarest of discoveries, a true island escape.
